Can I Get Broadband No Matter Where I Live?

Without a doubt, there are more broadband deals on the market today than ever before. However, there are still areas of the country that do not have access to the service. Here are the most common reasons for the absence of services in certain locations.

One of the main reasons for a lack of broadband service has to do with the proximity of the nearest exchange that has a broadband capability. The fact is that not all telephone exchanges or mobile towers are set up for broadband signalling. Until your local exchange is upgraded to allow broadband transmissions, your only option is likely to be dial-up services.

Another issue may be the type of wiring that is used in your area. While this is less of a problem than in times past, there are still some locations where the wiring is simply not capable of sustaining the data flow required to achieve and maintain broadband services. Once again, dial-up may be your only option.

Some broadband contracts require that your phone line be through a specific telephone service provider. For example, you may need to have a BT standard line that is billed directly through BT in order to establish service with a particular broadband provider. If this is the case, compare broadband providers in your area, as there is a chance that at least one will not have this requirement and you can then move on to comparing the different service plans offered by that company.

Don’t assume you can’t get broadband services just because they were not available in your area a few years ago. Something may have changed in the interim and you now have several options to choose from. If so, engage in a little broadband comparison and select the provider that will offer you the best service at the most reasonable price.

  • well i suppose you can get mobile broadband, but you need a good signal.
