One of the main features of Nokia’s new E71 is its QWERTY keypad; it has the numeric keys placed in the centre. The E71 also has a number of other buttons that add to its sophisticated techie feel and look. These controls are dedicated keys for email, contacts, calendar, and home. The E71 also has a Navi™Key that acts as a mouse pad. It allows for fast scrolling when navigating around the phone’s screen.

The E71 has been equipped with one of Nokia’s best screens. It measures 2.36 inches across and its resolution is 240 x 320 pixels. The screen’s space is great for viewing websites and for writing emails and other documents.

The main function of the E71 is of course messaging. The device supports email and text messaging very efficiently; it also supports attachments. PowerPoint, Word and Excel documents can be viewed and edited with the phone’s QuickOffice application.

Web browsing is another key feature of the phone. The unit’s built-in browser easily handles Javascript, Flash and XHTML. Most websites are displayed clearly. In a similar way to the iPhone, you can zoom in on and out of the webpage you are viewing by using the Navi™Key.

The phone has a very good battery life. However, its WLAN feature consumes power quickly. If you will be using this feature frequently, you should never be without a charger. The phone has 110 MB of internal memory. This can be expanded by using an 8 GB microSD card.

The E71 is a well-built phone that features an impressive camera. Its battery life, support for applications, and connectivity are commendable. The E71 is definitely a good choice if you are looking for a very mobile office.

Mobile Broadband Technology and How It Works

Mobile broadband technology consists of various types of wireless high-speed Internet access through a mobile telephone, a portable modem or other device. LTE UMTS/HSPA, GPRS, 3G, EV-DO, WiMAX, and several portable satellite-based systems are some of the network standards that are in use.

Devices that can provide mobile broadband access include: USB sticks, USB modems, phones with data modems, PC data cards, and portable devices with built-in support for mobile broadband (such as Mobile Internet Devices [MIDs], netbooks, and notebooks). Notebooks with built-in Mobile Broadband Modules (MBMs) are offered by leading laptop producers in Asia and Europe, including: HP, Acer, Dell, Lenovo and Fujitsu.

A group of mobile phone producers, telecommunication manufacturers, notebook manufacturers, and chipset manufacturers have joined forces to push built-in support for mobile broadband technology on notebook computers.

How mobile broadband works is really very simple. You plug the dongle (small piece of hardware) into the USB port, either in a PC or laptop, and you can be connected online in just a matter of minutes.

Whether you are at home or on the move, mobile broadband allows you to use your computer for all the things you normally go online for. You may shop, check your e-mails, watch the latest on YouTube, read the news, and do everything without having to pay for a fixed line.

Mobile broadband is the newest development in mobile Internet technology, and will greatly improve your broadband connection. It provides quick access to the Internet, running at broadband speeds wherever you are in the country, as long as the latest high-speed 3G networks cover the area. The larger mobile phone networks offer the best mobile broadband packages because they use the latest in mobile networking technology.

Is the Nokia 6220 Classic in Purple Really Different?

The Nokia 6220 in purple at first glance looks like a run-of-the-mill mobile phone and in truth it is to some extent, but what sets it apart is the camera.  The Nokia 6220 in purple has an on-board 5 megapixel camera with red eye reduction.  The camera also comes with Auto Focus, Xenon Flash, Auto Focus Light, Dedicated Camera Key and Landscape Mode, which may be hard to find among some other mobile phones.  The screen is 108 mm x 46.5 mm x 15.2 mm which is perfect for viewing pictures or videos that you download or record using the phone’s VGA recorder.

The music player supports most of the popular files and you can enjoy 13 hours of playback.  However, on the downside is the FM radio which plays well but drains the battery quickly.  Other features of the Nokia 6220 in purple are pretty standard features among the Nokia mobile phones including Bluetooth, USB access, data transfer and the ability to increase the phone’s memory.  In the case of the Nokia 6220 in purple, users can increase the memory up to 8 GB.

Nokia 6301 Unique Phone – Unique Enough for the Money?

The Nokia 6301 Unique Phone is slim, sleek, and best of all affordable.  However, if you are the type of person that needs a lot of bells and whistles on their mobile phone, then you need to keep looking because while the Nokia 6301 Unique Phone is a solid, well-designed phone, it’s not the phone for you.

The best part of the phone is the Wi-Fi connection that enables calls to be clear and less interrupted.  Connections at both home and outside were made easily.  Another big feature of the phone is the 1,000 contact address book that enables users to input numbers, addresses, birthdays, and nicknames.  You can also group contacts together or leave them in a list.  Other major features of the phone is the text messaging options, vibrate mode, calendar, to-do list, timer, stop-watch, and currency converter.

However, nothing is perfect.  One of the two minor flaws for some will be the size.  The phone measures 106 mm by 43.18 mm by 12.7 mm and weighs 1.4 ounces.  While it is small enough to be considered a mobile phone, it is also large enough to be likened to a landline cordless phone.  The other flaw of the phone is the 2.0 megapixel camera.  Nokia did not add a flash nor stability control to the phone which means that photos turn out blurry and colours are washed out.

As with all Nokia mobile phones, the Nokia 6301 Unique Phone is a dependable phone and given the price level of the phone is a good phone for your money.

Sony Ericsson W580i – lots of features in a compact design

The Sony Ericsson W580i packs an incredible amount of features into a tiny package.  This mobile phone is impressively small for its capabilities.  Helping to keep the device compact is the slider functionality.  When not in use a full number pad can be stored inside the body of the phone.  The W580i from Sony Ericsson was designed not only to be an exceptional mobile phone, but also to be used as a Walkman.

The Sony Ericsson W580i is only 99 mm long by 47 mm wide by 14 mm thick.  The device weighs just 94 grams as well.  To really make this phone attractive, the battery that comes included with the device is excellent.  Users can expect up to 9 hours of talk time and around 370 hours on standby.

This Sony Ericsson mobile phone comes in a variety of colours including Jungle Green, Metro Prink, and Velvet Red.  Users will also enjoy the fact that this device comes with an integrated 2 megapixel camera.

What many people enjoy about the W580i is its music capabilities.  This mobile phone supports a number of popular music formats.  It also includes a unique application that can identify songs for the user called TrackID.  There is also an FM radio integrated into the phone which will actually display song titles on the screen of your device.

LG KF300 with stylish flip design

The LG KF300 is a slim phone that offers a stylish design. It has a large keypad, which is ideal for those who are tired of using small keypads and are looking for a more user friendly option. The phone offers a selection of Hot Key features, which allows users to quickly access their text messages, phone book, alarm clock and calendar. Font sizes are changeable, which adds to the phone’s many user friendly features.

The LG KF300 is more suited to those who prefer texting to taking photos, as the phone’s 2 megapixel camera is not of the best quality. However, the camera does have autofocus and the phone’s display is of a reasonable size. Users also have access to Bluetooth, USB, an FM radio, email client and a web browser.

Unfortunately, the phone only offers 14MB internal memory, so there is not much room for storage of pictures, but users can expand memory if they wish by using a microSD memory card. In terms of battery, users can have up to 120 minutes of talk-time and 200 hours standby time.

For those looking for a phone packed with impressive features, such as a high quality camera and a GPS receiver, the LG KF300 is not the best choice. For those who prefer phones that offer a stylish design along with a wide range of user friendly features, the LG KF300 will not disappoint.
