Android vs iPhone – which one to choose?

Android and iPhone offer some of the most sought after smartphones in the mobile phone industry.  Both offer devices that have impressive features, such as 5 megapixel cameras and large displays.  However, although Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android both offer impressive devices, users may find that one model is more useful than the other.

Whilst the iPhone has some impressive specifications, Android phones are much more suitable for multi-tasking.  Android’s smartphones can run several applications at once, allowing users to receive notifications even when they are browsing the web or listening to music.  If you are looking for a smartphone that offers multi-tasking, an Android phone is a better choice.

Another advantage that Android offers over the iPhone is that Android phones are more reasonably priced.  Apple’s iPhones are packed with a wide range of features, but they are often in a higher price range.  Alternatively, Android offers HTC mobile phones and LG mobile phones at very affordable prices, enabling you to choose a good smartphone that suits your budget.

If you love apps, both the iPhone and the Android have much to offer.  Both offer hundreds of apps including Facebook and Twitter.  However, if you need a device that is user-friendly when it comes to downloading apps and adding widgets to your phone, Android is the better choice.  The Android market enables you to easily download apps, and the customisable home-screen allows you to add widgets and alter the look of your phone.

If you want to upgrade your current handset, or maybe you have never owned a mobile phone before and are considering purchasing one, looking at the many mobile phone review websites is a good place to begin.  These websites usually come in two forms: technical reviews of the various mobile features and functions and user reviews.  Some websites cover both aspects for easier use.

Technical mobile phone reviews cover the specifications of the mobile handset such as battery life, camera features, internal processor and design.  For those who are technically minded, this is ideal as you can then compare various mobile phones and see which is more suited to you needs.

If however you are not technically minded and just need a handset that is functional and reliable then user reviews are perhaps the pages you should be looking at.  User reviews can often be very blunt, and if a handset does not live up to the manufacturer hype the user reviews will say so.  User reviews will usually contain information such as its ease of use, quirks (such as a slow response touch screen), as well as comparisons to other handsets the user has used in the past.  All of the information in the review will help you to make a more informed decision on which handset is most suited to you.

Nokia Mobile Phones go with Windows

Microsoft and Nokia mobile phones announced a strategic partnership between mobile phones and the Windows Mobile operating system on February 13th, 2011.  Microsoft entered into the partnership by providing a platform, Windows Mobile Phone, and Nokia will bring its mobile devices that will operate solely on this system.

The partnership will mean that Nokia adopts Windows as their primary operating platform for their smartphones.  Further developments are expected in the Windows Mobile operating platform in terms of the hardware design and language support.  Xbox Live will be used to create applications and games for the whole global ecosystem, including Nokia Windows Mobile.

Searches on Nokia mobile phones is bound to include Microsoft’s Bing, and Nokia will also provide Microsoft adCenter on their new handsets, which will be developed after this collaboration.  It may also be rolled out to older Nokie mobile phones.  Nokia Maps will become part of the Microsoft mapping services.  Maps will be integrated with Bing and AdCenter to offer a unique experience in local search and advertising services.

It is hopeful that opting for a Windows operating system will not slow down the processing speed and multi-tasking feature of Nokia mobile phones.  They could have opted for Android technology for their operating system as most other mobile phone service providers have done.  However, Nokia has a bit of a reputation for being behind the curve in technological advances.

Android vs. iPhone

The battle of the smartphone has reached the operating systems.  If you own a smartphone, you already know that they are much smarter than an average phone.  They have not yet gotten so simple that a baby can operate one, but they have greatly improved the use of mobile phones as computers.  They are also great for multitasking and provide fast internet access.  The latest smartphones are like miniature, hand-held computers.

In the world of smartphones, there is a battle of Android vs. iPhone handsets.  Sales of Apple’s iPhone have dominated the market since it was first produced.  However, for the first time in the last quarter of 2010, sales of Android phones exceeded the iPhone.  This trend looks like it will continue in 2011.

One of the reasons Adroids are winning the Android vs. iPhone battle is that the Android smartphone works on an open platform.  It can be easily customised for a variety of different uses.

Phones with Android technology are likely to hold the upper hand in the Android vs. iPhone war into 2011 because the Android tablet I was released at a reasonable price with a faster operating system.   Customer loyalty to the brand, products and services that offer more bang for their buck, and popular apps that are easy to customise are likely to sway the consumer market in favour of Android phones.
