The Sony Ericsson W610i

The new W610i from Sony Ericsson is set to redefine what we know as a walkman. Dubbed the Walkman Player, the new W610i is advertised as not just a mere mobile phone but a complete musical kit. With this compact little device users can not only enjoy a digital music player that supports formats such as MP3, WAV and AAC, but it also can function like an FM radio as well.

To take advantage of the digital music player, users will have 512 MB of included memory to take advantage of. Although this space will have to be shared with any photos that a user might take using the W610i’s built in 2 megapixel camera. One bit of good news is that this device does offer an expansion slot but it is proprietary and is only compatible with Sony’s Memory Stick Micro.

One very unique feature that music lovers are sure to enjoy is something called TrackID. Using this program, a user can record a few seconds of a song and then feed it into TrackID which will then identify the song for the user. No more wondering what the name of a song is with this program.

The Sony Ericsson W610i is 102mm in length by 46mm wide and 14mm thick. The device weighs in at a trim 93 grams. Users will enjoy impressive battery life with this phone that provides up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 350 hours on standby.
